Cryogenic Globe Valve is engineered for precise flow throttling and leak-tight shut-off in extreme sub-zero fluid systems down to -196°C (-320°F). Featuring a linear stem motion and an extended bonnet design, this valve isolates the gland packing from cryogenic liquids, preventing ice formation on the stem and preserving packing seal flexibility during continuous operation.
Unlike quarter-turn valves, the globe design provides exceptional flow control capabilities, making it the preferred choice for regulating the flow of liquefied gases. Built with an engineered drip collar, thermal expansion relief mechanisms, and low-friction PCTFE or metal seating, the cryogenic globe valve resists thermal shock and severe temperature fluctuations. It is widely used in LNG liquefaction trains, industrial air separation units (LIN, LOX, LAR), liquid hydrogen storage, and aerospace fueling infrastructure.
Key Features
-
Extended Bonnet with Drip Collar: Elevates the stem packing gland away from the ultra-cold process media, allowing atmospheric warming to keep seals flexible and leak-free.
-
Superior Throttling Performance: Linear plug-and-seat geometry allows precise, repeatable flow regulation of cryogenic liquids and vapors.
-
Top-Entry Maintenance: Direct top-access bonnet design permits easy seat, plug, and stem inspection or replacement without removing the valve body from the pipeline.
-
Anti-Freezing Stem Packing: Live-loaded Belleville spring washers continuously compress the PTFE/Graphite packing, compensating for material contraction during thermal cycling.
-
Thermal Shock Resistance: Cast or forged stainless steel and alloy bodies engineered to withstand rapid cooldown cycles without body cracking or distortion.
