Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) is engineered to provide precise, automatic pressure control by stepping down high, erratic inlet pressure to a constant, lower downstream pressure. Unlike manual throttling valves, the PRV utilizes internal hydraulic feedback or a pilot system to maintain set outlet pressure regardless of upstream flow fluctuations or varying demand. This self-regulating design protects sensitive downstream piping, boilers, and industrial equipment from over-pressurization and pressure surges.

When downstream pressure drops below the set point, the internal control mechanism modulates the main disc open, increasing flow to restore target pressure. As downstream demand decreases and pressure rises to the preset limit, the sensing element adjusts the valve stem to restrict flow, delivering a tight, chatter-free seal to prevent downstream pressure creep.

Key Features

  • Stable Downstream Pressure Regulation: Dynamically balances fluctuating inlet pressures to deliver steady, regulated output across wide flow variations.

  • Cavitation-Resistant Trim Options: Engineered internal profiles attenuate noise and prevent internal cavitation damage during high pressure-differential drops.

  • Dead-End Tight Shut-Off: Precision-ground seats paired with resilient soft seals prevent downstream pressure buildup during zero-demand conditions.

  • Adjustable Outlet Settings: Heavy-duty external adjustment springs or pilot control screws allow precise on-site recalibration of downstream pressure limits.

  • In-Line Top-Entry Serviceability: Internal components can be inspected, cleaned, or replaced without removing the valve body from the main pipeline.
