When system pressure exceeds the preset opening threshold (set pressure), the hydraulic force overcomes the spring force, causing the valve to pop open rapidly and discharge excess gas, steam, or liquid. As pressure drops back to a safe operating level, the spring force automatically re-seats the disc tight against the nozzle, restoring full system integrity without manual intervention.
